Connecting Outside of ENG 110
My favorite revision strategies when it comes to active reading was annotating. I have difficulty remembering what I have read by the time that I finish an essay, so annotating on the side and highlighting helps me remember the key parts of the essay. It has helped me understand my readings a lot better. My favorite brainstorming strategy was the cluster method. Even though it could be crowded and confusing, it helped me connect my ideas and know what I should write in each paragraph. My favorite drafting strategy would be outlining my papers before I even try to write them because it allows me the freedom to jot my thoughts down without worrying about the organization aspect of it. One of the things that I realized a lot while revising my papers is that I put a lot of things in my paper that I do not need, and so going through my paper and removing all of the extra thoughts that may not make sense or things that just do not fit in my paper, helps me revise my paper. My favorite polishing strategy is definitely being able to peer review in class. Hearing what my other classmates have to offer about my paper is extremely helpful. I can use all of these strategies in my future projects because these all contribute to making a stronger paper/project.
