Preparation for Licensure and Transition to Professional Practice

Preparation for Licensure and Transition to Professional Practice

Throughout the different ATI assessments, I tried to take longer per question. I have always been a fast test taker, and while that has not been a big issue for me, I have realized that it does make it easier for me to miss important aspects of questions. Along with trying to take longer on questions, I tried to read more thoroughly through each answer. Since I am prone to taking an exam fast, I typically look at keys words…

Attaining and Protecting Your Professional Nursing License

Attaining and Protecting Your Professional Nursing License

I intend to become licensed in New Hampshire, which is a Nurse Licensure Compact State. A nurse licensure application is completed and submitted online through the NH Board of Nursing website. The state of NH requires that FBI fingerprinting and the criminal record release authorization forms must be filed with the NH Division of State Police before issuing a license. Applicant must send copies of their official transcripts and driver’s license, along with proof of residency. The Office of Professional…

Pharmacology ATI Practice B

Pharmacology ATI Practice B

I think that I do better with the practice exams because there is a set amount of questions I need to take and so it doesn’t get me frustrated or tired. On the first practice ATI, I got a 68.3% and on this second practice quiz I got an 81.7%. This was nice to see because it showed that I was able to retain information and really learn from the last practice exam. I think in the future for studying…

Maternal-Newborn Adaptive ATI

Maternal-Newborn Adaptive ATI

I felt better while taking this ATI than I did the ones before. This ATI was better for me as we had just finished our maternity section and so this information felt like it was still fresh in my head. I had to take 175 questions for this quiz, with 45 remediations, and it didn’t feel as frustrating. One of the things, that is the same with every ATI, is that I take them quick. I have always been a…

ATI Med-Surg Adaptive Quiz

ATI Med-Surg Adaptive Quiz

For this adaptive quiz I had to take 261 questions which was frustrating. I had decided to take a break from it halfway through, at question 155, because of the amount of questions already taken. Things that didn’t go so well are the fact that I had to take 261 questions and that I changed my answers multiple times. What I take from having to do so many questions and still getting a 71% is that it is very possible…

ATI Pharmacology Adaptive Quiz

ATI Pharmacology Adaptive Quiz

Adaptive quizzes are always hard. Most of the time adaptive quizzes make me feel like I am not going to pass the NCLEX and leave me frustrated. I had to take 122 questions and was in the 15th percentile for hard questions. What could have gone better was that I could have taken more time with some questions. Some questions I read through quickly, saw a word I liked in one of the answers and chose it. One question I…

Career Development

Career Development

This movie, NURSES If Florence Could See Us Now, inspired me and lifted my feelings about going into the practice during this hard time of COVID. Especially when mentioned how proud she would be to see nurses and everything we take on. This movie was released in 2013 and it made me think about how much prouder Florence would be of nurses even now. Having to start this new career of ours during COVID is intimidating but this documentary helped…

Prepare for Transition

Prepare for Transition

As we get closer to graduation, job applications and thinking about the NCLEX, I wish I could describe what I am feeling. I am the first person in my family to graduate from college and the first person in my family to go into the healthcare field. I have been an LNA for the past four years so one of the things that I am most excited about it being able to transition from that LNA role into the nurses’…
