ATI Pharmacology Adaptive Quiz
Adaptive quizzes are always hard. Most of the time adaptive quizzes make me feel like I am not going to pass the NCLEX and leave me frustrated. I had to take 122 questions and was in the 15th percentile for hard questions. What could have gone better was that I could have taken more time with some questions. Some questions I read through quickly, saw a word I liked in one of the answers and chose it. One question I took eight seconds to read and choose my answer which is way too fast. Something that was frustrating with this exam as well is the fact that some of my math questions were flagged wrong, when they were right. There were also a lot of medications that I didn’t recognize and so I had no idea what the right answers were. What went well in this quiz, even though it made me go to 122 questions, was that I was bumped up to the ‘hard’ questions. I was answering most of the moderate correct and so ATI wanted to give me hard questions. Although I only got probably 50% of those hard questions right, I consider that as something that went well for me because while it felt like I didn’t know much it means I still was doing well. And while it was frustrating to do 122 questions it also reminded and prepared me for that fact that I probably am not going to pass my NCLEX in 75 questions, and that is 100% okay.

Sierra, you’ll be taking three more adaptive exams plus several more practice and proctored assessments, so you have plenty of time to improve your test-taking strategies – try to think positively!
